On September 10th, The County Planning and Zoning Board held a special meeting, “discussion only”, to redo the General Plan Subcommittee presentations and hear public input on the Draft General Plan (DGP), due to prior Open Meeting Law violations. Although several citizens spoke out against the intention to put the proposed Angle Homes development in the DGP it was evident that a majority of board members were adverse to reverting the land use designation back as required by a 2006 Board of Supervisor’s Resolution stipulated. They will pass on their recommendation to the Supervisors for approval, amendment, or rejection, after a vote at the September 17th P&Z meeting. If you can only attend one meeting, carve out the time to make your voice heard by the Supervisors in October. Since they rejected the previous proposal, they now need a unanimous vote to pass a new general plan pursuant to State law. If they can’t negotiate an agreement,, the County will continue with the current Plan until they do.
