Butch & Chris Meriwether’s annual Halloween Display runs through Oct. 31st. The display will be up each night for at least four hours after sundown. At 2225 S. Dome Rd., turn south on Egar Road from Hwy. 68 and drive south for 4 1/2 miles and then turn right on Tapeats Drive (if you arrive at Shinarump Drive, you’ve gone one half mile too far). Head west for about one-half mile and you can’t miss the display at Dome Rd. The display is free but donations of cash or pet food for the Luv of Paws are greatly appreciated.


Last Chance Saloon, at 4105 Hwy 68, will host a “Sexy Skaraoke Party on Thursday October 30th starting at 6pm. with free food, a costume contest, and karaoke entertainment.

Golden Valley Events Trunk or Treat at Veterans Park, 3499 Verde Rd. on Friday October 31st. Costume contest at 4:30 pm. Music and games too!

Shipps Estates, off of Teddy Roosevelt south of Hwy 68, will be having a community wide yard sale on October 24th and 25th.

The new Veterans Camp Hope Thrift Store has opened at 3395 Verde Rd, next to the library. Every purchase and donation helps to provide vital resources for veterans in need. Proceeds benefit http://javc.org

A future cattle guard to keep cows off Hwy 68 is slated for S. Estrella and Hwy 68. The BLM Kingman Field Office has funding available in assisting with the installation of a cattle guard. ADOT’s Joint Project Agreement (JPA) Group is working on an agreement that will allow BLM to transfer the funding to ADOT. After the agreement has been reviewed ADOT’S Kingman Maintenance unit will install the cattle guard.

Nearby Chloride will be holding a community wide yard on Saturday, November 8th.
