As results were announced in the November 4th elections, the dysfunctional Democrats emerged more united than ever. While the GOP was busy attacking it’s most “America First” members, such as Thomas Massie and Marjory Taylor Green,Turning Point Action had boots on the ground knocking doors and registering voters across the nation.
Here in Arizona, Turning Point Action led a high-profile effort to recall Mesa City Councilmember Julie Spilsbury, a RINO who was the National Co-Chair of the 'Republicans for Kamala Harris' campaign and supported local measures on homelessness housing, utility rate hikes, and council salaries. Launched in January by constituents, TPAction amplified the effort by collecting over 5,200 signatures to qualify the recall for the November ballot, deploying volunteers for door-knocking and Get Out The Vote events, sending targeted texts/emails, and endorsing MAGA challenger Dorean Taylor who won with 52.78% of the vote. A taste a what’s to come as we head into the 2026 election cycle? Oh yeah.
There is a war raging for control of the MAGA movement narrative and the future of the Grand Old Party. There have been skirmishes with neocons in the past, the hijacking of the Tea Party movement and the orchestrated squashing of the Ron Paul Revolution. The John McCains and Mitt Romneys of the Party demonizing the John Birch Society and Barry Goldwater types is nothing new. The establishment elite made “Libertarian” a pejorative, as if freedom was actually a bad thing and worthy of condemnation. But the fire of rebellion only needs a spark to create a blazing inferno.
And a new dynamic has emerged to fan the flames in the current battle, foreign influence meddling. In a well coordinated effort to recruit American evangelicals to their cause, Israel has unleashed a public relations campaign to demonize the critics of their current administration and villainize popular figures such as Candace Owens, but also lesser known social influencers. Because if you ain’t MIGA then you ain’t MAGA, apparently. The old uniparty establishment never questioned loyalty to Israel but the younger generation especially is pushing back against selling out their future by shoveling billions to another country. Young liberal NYC Jews voting for Muslim Mamdani proved the status quo has changed.
Even the local GOP is has taken up the divisive and intolerant cancel culture battle cry. LD30 House candidate and Havasu pastor David Rose had a Facebook meltdown and joined the fray of Christian Zionists attacking media icon Tucker Carlson for interviewing Israeli policy critic Nick Fuentes. “Tucker’s rhetoric does not just attack Israel, it undermines the very values that built America,”, he posted. Funny, I thought that freedom of speech, of association, and of religion, were values that built this great nation. Without those the war for the Party is already lost.
