USAID Exposed: Billions Squandered on Leftist Initiatives

Feb. 15, 2025

A shocking revelation has finally been brought to public attention regarding the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), unmasking a blatant misuse of taxpayer dollars on projects that align more with a radical left-wing globalist agenda than with America's strategic interests. The Trump administration, with Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) leading the charge, has already flagged nearly $2B in highly questionable and controversial spending, highlighting an ingrained culture of waste, fraud, and abuse within USAID.

Among the most disturbing examples that have recently come to light: USAID reportedly spent $164 million to support radical organizations around the world with $122 million of that going to groups aligned with foreign terrorist organizations, nearly $1 million to the Hamas affiliated Byader Association, nearly $10 million on meals that went to an al Qaeda-funded terrorist group called the Nusra Front, $2.5 million for electric vehicles and charging stations in Vietnam, $2 million for sex changes in Guatemala, $20 million to produce a Sesame Street show in Iraq, $4.5 million to combat misinformation in Kazakhstan, $7.9 million to teach Sri Lankan journalists to avoid binary gendered language, $1.5 million to promote LGBT advocacy in Jamaica, $1.5 million to rebuild the Cuban media ecosystem, $1.5 million for art for inclusion of people with disabilities in Belarus, $3.9 million for LGBT causes in Macedonia, $8.3 million for equity and inclusion education in Nepal, $1.5 million to a Serbian LGBTQ group, to “advanced diversity, equity, inclusion in Serbia's workplaces and business communities”, $47,000 for a transgender opera in Colombia, $32,000 for a transgender comic book in Peru, $70,000 for a "DEI-themed musical" in Ireland, and USAID funded a transgender clinic in India called the Mitr Clinic, just to name a few.

USAID funds were also disbursed to fund bat coronavirus research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, funded the Clinton Foundation and thereby pay for Chelsea Clinton’s extravagant wedding, funded Bill Gates’ global vaccine program, and provided substantial funding to Ukrainian groups involved with the Maidon Coup.

USAID was even funding the BBC, the Associated Press, Reuters, Politico, and other news sources, including several in Ukraine.

The White House publicized these findings, calling out USAID for spending taxpayer money on what they term "crap." Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized the need for these dollars to benefit Americans, particularly those still recovering from natural disasters, rather than funding what critics see as costly and absurd social experiments far from home.

The backlash has been brutal, with many calling USAID a "left-wing money laundering criminal organization." and a front for the CIA. Critics argue that USAID has strayed far from its original mission of providing humanitarian aid and economic development in line with U.S. interests.

There's a growing demand for accountability, reform, and even the total dissolution of USAID, as seen by the administration promptly merging it with the State Department under Marco Rubio. Rubio immediately reduced the USAID workforce to 294 out of over 1,300 employees, many of whom were having social media meltdowns about being placed on administrative leave.

The administration’s 90 day freeze on foreign aid will allow for additional analysis.
