On April 8th, Border Czar Tom Homan appeared before a special joint session of the Arizona Legislature to address the border crisis. "Let's talk about the truth of what is going on at the border," Homan began. "The Biden Administration created the most significant immigration crisis in the history of this nation. We went from the most secure border in my lifetime to unprecedented immigration. Well, now we have got President Trump, who happens to be the greatest president of my lifetime, back in office, and we will secure the border. We have already done it. We are going to run the biggest deportation operation in the history of this nation. We are going to find these missing kids."
As Homan spoke, one by one, Democrat lawmakers stood up and walked out carrying signs with the name of an illegal alien who had been legally deported. They joined news crews and a handful of protesters yelling about deportations.
Homan addressed the walkout during his speech. "If they saw what I saw in my 40 years, if they saw what the border sheriffs see everyday on the border, they'd understand, but they’re ignorant," Homan said "They don’t want to learn." Homan continued saying, “I try not to curse much, if I offended anybody I don’t care. I don’t, because I get irritated when I started talking about the false narrative being pushed by the left.“ Speaking to the Democrat House Members and Senators directly he said, “Thank you for making my day. I love haters. They make my day every day.” and “I know I got a lot of haters in this room, but I don’t give a shit. We’re gonna get this job done with no apologies.”
Referring to them later Homan said, "Under the Biden administration, half a million children were smuggled into this country, taken out of the hands of their families and given to a criminal cartel to be smuggled into this country, and we're the bad guys," “All these people who just walked out, what did they do? Did they speak up about that? Did they speak up to the fact that 300,000 of these children can’t be found because they’re released to unvetted sponsors? The last administration had one goal: process quick, release quick, because there’s no overcrowding. We can say ‘the border is secure, nothing to see here,’” said Homan.
Homan noted the Trump administration has been criticized for detaining families. But he added that the detention makes it possible to do DNA tests to make sure children are with a parent and not a sex trafficker.
As the flood of illegal border crossings have slowed to a trickle under the Trump administration, prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona are filing immigration and border crime charges at a record pace. In just one week, they filed charges against 204 illegal foreign nationals. This includes 83 for illegal reentry, 107 for illegally entering the U.S., and 14 responsible for “smuggling illegal aliens into and within the District of Arizona,” the office announced.
And it's not just border counties. April 1st, Border Patrol agents arrested illegal alien Gabriel Santiago-Ramirez near Kingman, after being pursued in his vehicle by Border Patrol agents, he bounded out and ran. Agents found three illegals inside the vehicle allegedly being transported further into the interior. Border Patrol agents apprehended Santiago-Ramirez and arrested all four here illegally.
